When Carter volunteers at the food bank for the first time, hunger takes on a personal note when she runs into one of her friends from school. After reading a book on how she can help fight against hunger, Carter goes on a journey through her community to do what she can and teach others how they can help, too!

    Jasmine Crowe is an award-winning social entrepreneur, a highly sought-after keynote speaker and author. After years of feeding people experiencing homelessness from her own kitchen, she founded Goodr in 2017, a tech company that combats hunger and food waste.Jasmine is a proud alumna of North Carolina Central University. A resident of Atlanta, Georgia, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and being a new mom to her daughter Journey. She is an avid traveler who has visited more than 30 countries. Jasmine sits on several nonprofit boards and continues to use her time for good.She was named by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of the top 100 influential female founders and recognized on the Black Enterprise 40 Under 40 List.

It is an international day commemorating the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in 1945. The FAO is an intergovernmental organization dedicated to achieving food security for all.

    • NOVEMBER 13-21: Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week is an annual program – National Coalition for the Homeless and the National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness – where people come together across the country to draw attention to the problems of hunger and homelessness.
